Here’s another promo I’ve been meaning to cover for a little while now, though there’s plenty of time left to take advantage of it, so if you have upcoming hotel stays or car rentals and are looking for ways to pad your US Airways Dividend miles accounts, take a look.
Here’s how it breaks down:
- 1-2 hotel stays/car rentals = 25% bonus miles
- 3-4 hotel stays/car rentals = 50% bonus miles
- 5-6 hotel stays/car rentals = 75% bonus miles
- 7-10 hotel stays/car rentals = 100% bonus miles
So, for instance, if you booked a stay at an Aloft property, you’d ordinarily earn 2 miles per dollar you spend there, but with this promo, you could earn up to 4. Waldorf Astoria (Hilton) is another partner where you can choose fixed or variable miles credits per stay, so you’d earn either 500 miles or 1 point per $1, but you could double those figures with enough stays.
On the car side of things, US Airways is partners with Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Hertz, National, Sixt and Thrifty. So if, for example, you rented a car with Avis and had US Airways as your airline partner of choice, you’d ordinarily earn 2 miles per dollar you spend on consumer rates, so your bonus would potentially go up to 4 miles per dollar.
Per the terms and conditions: Bonus miles are in addition to miles awarded by Dividend Miles partners. Registered Dividend Miles members will earn a cumulative transaction bonus based on the following criteria: 1 − 2 transactions = 25% bonus; 3 − 4 transactions = 50% bonus; 5 − 6 transactions = 75% bonus; 7 − 10 transactions = 100% bonus. A valid Dividend Miles number must be provided to the qualifying partner. Use of a partner without earning Dividend Miles will not count towards a cumulative transaction bonus. Only qualified transactions that earn Dividend Miles with participating partners will count toward a cumulative transaction bonus. (So no banking just bonus miles off this promo if US Airways isn’t your mileage partner of choice with the hotel or car agency). US Airways will track the cumulative transactions during the promotion period and will award the appropriate bonus miles based on the total qualified cumulative transactions during the promotion period. Only the miles from the first 10 eligible transactions (based on activity date) may be earned for this promotion during the specified period. Please note that hotel points to miles conversion transactions are not eligible for this promotion. Bonus miles for this promotion will post on March 1, 2013.
Eligible Activity Date: Only miles earned between November 12 and December 31, 2012 are eligible (‘Eligible Activity Date’). Eligible Activity Date is based on the date the qualifying partner records the mileage transaction, and not necessarily the date on which the transaction occurred. US Airways assumes no responsibility for how qualifying partners record Eligible Activity Dates. Most qualifying partners record Eligible Activity Dates based on completion of the required activity (for example, delivery of the item purchased, return of car rental, hotel check-out, cruise completion, etc.). You should check with the applicable qualifying partner to confirm its policies and procedures for recording Eligible Activity Dates. The last date that activity from a qualifying partner can be received by US Airways for bonus miles consideration is February 28, 2013, regardless of the Eligible Activity Date for such activity.
So because this is based on stays or rentals rather than nights or rental days, you might be better off with shorter stays or rentals if you’re hoping to score the whole 100% bonus, but if you are just looking to get a little uptick on your mileage earning then even those longer, more expensive rentals will earn you a bonus.
