Now through July 31, 2013, JetBlue is offering up to a 50% bonus on purchased TrueBlue points. It’s a tiered bonus structure, so the more points you buy, the higher bonus you’ll receive. To participate in this offer, you must login into your TrueBlue account, and click on the option of either Buy Points or Gifti Points. The bonus is hardcoded, so there is no need to register, and you’ll see the offer appear automatically when trying to purchase points.

Here’s how it works:

  • Buy between 10,000 – 19,500 to get 30% bonus points
  • Buy between 20,000 – 29,500 to get 40% bonus points
  • Buy 30,000 to get 50% bonus points

You must login to your JetBlue account to participate in this offer.

Through this offer if you were to purchase 30,000 points for $886.88, you would be receiving 45,000 points bringing the cost to about 1.97 cents per point, which is not a great deal since you only get about a 1.3 cents per point value when you redeem.

However, if you just need a few extra points to top off your account for an award, then it could be something to consider, but I wouldn’t recommend just buying these points with no specific redemption lined up. These points must be bought in 1,000 increments.

As a reminder, members may purchase a maximum of 60,000 points per calendar year. Through this offer, the maximum you can receive is 45,000 (30,000+15,000 bonus). The points should be posted to your account within 72 hours if not sooner.

If you’re looking for a way to boost your TrueBlue balance, you could also consider applying for the JetBlue Amex, which currently comes with a sign-up bonus of 20,000 TrueBlue points when you spend $1,000 within 3 months and has the $40 annual fee waived the first year.

Term and Conditions: Bonus point offer valid for point purchases between June 19 and July 31, 2013. Valid only for new TrueBlue point purchases by TrueBlue members with their account in good standing; points can be purchased for a member’s own account or as a gift to another member’s account; not valid for point transfers. Points can be purchased for approximately $37.63 per 1,000 points; GST/HST will be charged to Canadian residents. POINT PURCHASES ARE NONREFUNDABLE. Minimum point purchase per transaction is 1,000 points; maximum is 30,000. Members may not purchase more than a total of 60,000 TrueBlue points in a calendar year (regardless of whether the points were purchased for a member’s own TrueBlue account or as a gift). Members may not receive more than a total of 60,000 TrueBlue points in a calendar year from point purchases (regardless of whether the member purchased the points or received them as a gift from another member’s purchase). Please allow 72 hours for purchased points to post to the applicable TrueBlue account. Cannot be combined with other offers. Additional restrictions apply. See TrueBlue Terms and Conditions for details.
