As I mentioned earlier this week, I’ll be appearing at the LA Times Travel Show tomorrow on a panel at noon titled, More for Your Money: The Best Value for Your Vacation Dollars along with Johnny Jet and moderated by LA Times Web Buzz columnist Jen Leo.
So for the giveaway this week, I wanted to invite two readers and a guest to come see me and have lunch with me afterwards in Los Angeles. In order to enter the contest, you had to leave a comment telling me what question you would pose and why. I got a lot of great responses – nearly 100 questions in all – and at random Team TPG and I selected the following two winners.
Courtney: I’m curious about how (or if) someone who doesn’t travel every week or have a ton of money can make miles accrue in a significant way. What mileage goals would you set as a person who travels several times a year (mostly weekend trips and maybe one or 2 week-long trips) and how would you meet them?
Nancy: My question: given that each credit card has different ways to maximize points, how do you “keep it all straight”? i.e. how to remember to use which card for a certain category of expenses? Is there an app for that?
Both great questions (among a lot of others!), and ones I’m looking forward to answering on Sunday. Thank you to all who entered, and even if you didn’t win, I hope you’ll consider coming to hear me anyway. You can find info on times/tickets at the links above. If you can’t make it on Sunday, TPG Managing Editor will be appearing on the same panel at the same time on Saturday. I always love meeting up with readers, so I hope to see many of you out there!
