With the new winter promo from United Airlines and Air Canada, you can fly non-stop between the United States or Canada to multiple European cities, and earn 7,500 bonus miles. The transatlantic flights must be completed between January 16, 2015 and March 10, 2015.

Earn up to 15,000 miles on United or Air Canada for flights to/from Europe this winter.

To earn the 7,500 bonus miles, make sure to register for the promotion before you travel, and then fly on a qualifying non-stop, round-trip itinerary between North America and one of the select European airports (listed below). When you fly again on a second qualifying itinerary, you can earn another 7,500 bonus miles for a maximum bonus of 15,000 bonus miles. Those miles are in addition to the mileage you would normally earn for your flight.

You can choose whether to bank your bonus miles to MileagePlus or Aeroplan, but you can only earn the bonus in one program or the other (that is, you can’t earn 7,500 miles in each).

The offer is valid for qualifying travel between the US or Canada and the following European cities:

  • Amsterdam (AMS)
  • Brussels (BRU)
  • Copenhagen (CPH)
  • Frankfurt (FRA)
  • Geneva (GVA)
  • London (LHR)
  • Munich (MUC)
  • Paris (CDG)
  • Zurich (ZRH)

To qualify for this offer, MileagePlus members must register on United.com and Aeroplan members must register with Air Canada at Aircanada.com prior to travel and before March 10, 2015. (Note that the offer doesn’t appear to be available yet on Air Canada’s promotions page.  If you have a working link, please share it in the comments below.)

On United, this offer is valid on paid published fares flown in United Global First (F, A), United BusinessFirst (J, C, D, Z, P) and United Economy (Y, B, M, E, U, H, Q, V, W). On Air Canada, the offer is valid on paid published fares flown in Business (J, C, D, Z, P) and Economy (O, E, N, Y, B, M, U, H, Q, V, W).

If you have transatlantic travel booked during the offer period and in the designated fare classes, it’s a no-brainer to sign up and collect the bonus miles. If you’re in the market for a ticket to any of the eligible destinations, I would at least factor these bonus miles into your considerations. In my most recent monthly valuations, I list United miles at 1.5 cents apiece and Aeroplan miles at 1.6 cents, so 7,500 bonus miles would be worth about $113 or $120 in award travel, respectively.
