Per this Flyertalk thread, United Airlines is offering some cheap fares between San Francisco and Hong Kong starting at $550-$725 roundtrip for dates this Spring and Summer.

Finding Airfares Using the ITA Matrix

One of the most useful tools for searching airfares quickly is the ITA Matrix. Check out this post for tips on how to use it.

However, you can’t book these flights using the iTA Matrix, so you’d then have to search for these flights on another site like United or Orbitz.

Fly from SFO-HKG for $546 roundtrip.

Reminder: You can bank extra credit card points by using a card that maximizes airfare purchases, like 3x on airfare with the American Express Premier Rewards Gold or 2x on the Chase Sapphire Preferred. Check out this post for more on maximizing airfare purchases.

These fares book into United’s S and K classes, so unfortunately they aren’t upgradable with Global Premier Upgrades. Since United recently switched to a revenue based loyalty program, as a MileagePlus member you would only earn around 2,270 MileagePlus miles.
