Etihad Will Only Serve Elite Customers with New Twitter Account

Looking to bolster its customer service on Twitter, Etihad just launched an invitation-only account for elite members. The @EtihadPremium handle will offer five-minute response times to customer queries, as well as help with retroactive mileage claims and access to exclusive deals.

According to a thread on FlyerTalk, Etihad Guest Gold members can request access to the exclusive Twitter account by emailing socialmedia@etihad.ae with a photocopy of their Etihad Guest Card, along with their date of birth, postal code and Twitter handle. Once your information is verified, @EtihadPremium will follow you and you’ll be able to message the account for help with reservations.

Given that there’s plenty of room for improvement when it comes to airline customer service on social media, Etihad’s premium-only Twitter account is certainly an interesting idea. If you’re an Etihad Guest Gold member, do you plan on checking it out?
