Airfare deals are typically only available on limited dates. We recommend that you use Google Flights to find dates to fly, then book through an online travel agency, such as Orbitz, which allows you to cancel flights without penalty by 11pm Eastern Time within one day of booking. Remember: Fares may disappear quickly, so book right away and take advantage of Orbitz’s courtesy cancellation if you’re unable to travel.
Last week, American and United were both featuring fantastic fares to China, with Shanghai available from $653 and Beijing priced from $660. Now, per The Flight Deal, United’s offering sale fares to China’s neighbor to the east, Taiwan. You can fly from Dallas for $669, Miami for $675 and Newark (with just one stop in Tokyo in each direction) for $715. These discounted fares are available from September through the end of the schedule in April. Regular fares usually run twice as much, so if you’re looking to travel to Taiwan (Hong Kong is also a very short flight away), you’ll save quite a bit by booking now.
Here are a few examples of what we found:
Dallas (DFW)-Taipei (TPE) for $653 on United (earns 15,572 EQMs):
