Airfare deals are typically only available on limited dates. We recommend that you use Google Flights to find dates to fly, then book through an online travel agency, such as Orbitz, which allows you to cancel flights without penalty by 11pm Eastern Time within one day of booking. Remember: Fares may disappear quickly, so book right away and take advantage of Orbitz’s courtesy cancellation if you’re unable to travel.
Last week, United offered fares between major markets priced at just $80 round-trip. Of course, those kinds of deals can’t last, so we’ll have to make do with a more ordinary sale. Today, you can book flights from a dozen or so cities to Liberia, Costa Rica from just $321 round-trip. Flights to Costa Rica come along with more than $100 in taxes (included in these fares), so in some cases United’s pocketing less than $100 each way for these flights.
You’ll find fares priced below $400 through the end of May 2016, from cities including Baltimore, Boston, Charlotte, Dallas, Houston, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, Phoenix and St. Louis. Liberia (LIR) is the gateway to the country’s Pacific coast, located just 30 minutes from hotels in Papagayo, including Hilton, Westin and JW Marriott resorts.
Route(s): BWI, CLT, DFW, IAH, MIA, EWR, PHL, PHX and STL TO LIR
