Airfare deals are typically only available on limited dates. We recommend that you use Google Flights to find dates to fly, then book through an online travel agency such as Orbitz, which allows you to cancel flights without penalty by 11pm Eastern Time within one day of booking. Remember: Fares may disappear quickly, so book right away and take advantage of Orbitz’s courtesy cancellation if you’re unable to travel.

We haven’t seen many economy airfare deals to Europe since before the summer high season, but our friends over at The Flight Deal have uncovered what appears to be a Delta fare sale from several American Airlines hubs to various European cities good for travel this fall, and all the way into May in some cases. Fares to Dublin are as low as $530 round-trip, while others to cities such as Prague and Athens are around the $620-$640 mark.

Most are good from September-October, a lovely time to visit Europe when the crowds have dispersed a bit, but the weather is still beautiful. As with all deals of this nature, while these airfares are still available at the time of posting, they’re likely to go quickly and might even be gone by the end of the day, so if you’re thinking about booking, we recommend doing so immediately.

Maximize Your Purchase

Remember, you can bank extra credit card points by using a card that maximizes airfare purchases, like 3x on airfare with the Citi Prestige (3x on airfare), or 2x on travel purchases the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card. Because this is a Delta fare sale, though, if you have a co-branded Delta Amex such as the Gold Delta SkyMiles, Platinum Delta SkyMiles or Delta Reserve Credit Card from American Express, you might want to consider using one of them instead to earn an additional 2x miles per $1 on your airfare. Check out this post for more on maximizing airfare purchases.
