One of the many Amex credit card benefits is the ability to add limited-time Amex Offers to your account, giving you a credit after meeting spending requirements with specific merchants. These perks are in addition to those you’ll get through Amex OPEN. There are always dozens of offers available, and while some are better than others, you can add a lot of value to your American Express card by taking advantage.

Two such offers have popped up within the past week: $100 off after spending $500 with Delta Air Lines by October 31, and a very similar offer from Emirates, which is valid through November 28.

The Delta offer can be applied to reservations made via Delta’s website, phone or at ticket counters. It can also be applied to purchases related to upgrades, miles, seat selection, change fees, bag fees, Delta Sky Club membership or passes, in-flight meals and alcoholic beverages, in-flight entertainment on Delta-operated flights and even Delta Vacation packages (but not other all-inclusive packages). The credit won’t apply to in-flight internet access, and any other Delta-related charges that are processed by a third-party.

The Emirates offer, meanwhile, is much more limited. Flights must originate in the US (including Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands and US territories), so this means you can’t get the credit for some of Emirates’ excellent fifth-freedom routes, including flights between Australia and New Zealand. However, you can use it on New York to Milan. You also have to book on Emirates’ US website.

I added both offers to my Amex EveryDay Preferred Credit Card, since I spotted them there first, though they may be available on other non-corporate accounts, including the Premier Rewards Gold Card, the Platinum Card and the Starwood Preferred Guest Credit Card from American Express, among others. There’s no reason not to add offers to your card, so if you think there’s a chance you may use these offers before the deadline, be sure to add them today.
