Aer Lingus is continuing its route expansion in the US. Beginning March 25, 2018, the Irish carrier will launch service between Dublin (DUB) and Philadelphia (PHL) with 4x weekly flights.
Although the service doesn’t launch until March 2018, the route is already bookable. Here’s what the schedule looks like, operating on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
- EI114 Philadelphia (PHL) 5:30pm Departure ⇒ Dublin (DUB) 5:10am (+1) Arrival
- EI115 Dublin (DUB) 1:50pm Departure ⇒ Philadelphia (PHL) 4:15pm Arrival
The route will be operated on one of the carrier’s leased 757-200s. While the aircraft is not owned by Aer Lingus itself, the experience won’t be different for passengers. It’ll still feature the Aer Lingus livery, seats, cabin and service just like you’d experience with any other Aer Lingus-operated flight.
Aer Lingus’ 757-200 aircraft features two cabins: business and economy. The business cabin consists of 12 lie-flat seats, with two rows arranged in a 2-2 configuration and two rows arranged in a 1-1 configuration. The economy cabin of the single-aisle aircraft is made up of 165 seats in a 3-3 configuration. Each seat in the economy cabin has 31 inches of pitch and is 18 inches wide.
At this time, the flights are bookable, with round-trip fares hovering around the $576 mark.
If you’re interested in booking this route with award miles, remember that you can redeem Avios at a pretty favorable rate. PHL falls under Zone 5 in the award chart. Meaning, you’ll need 20,000 Avios to fly one-way in economy during the peak season (13,000 one-way off-peak), or 60,000 Avios to fly one-way in business class during the peak season (50,000 one-way off-peak). You can see Aer Lingus’ full calendar for 2017 with peak and off-peak dates here.
On September 1, Aer Lingus launched service between Miami (MIA) and DUB with 3x weekly flights. Aer Lingus now offers nonstop service from DUB to New York (EWR and JFK), Boston (BOS), Toronto (YYZ), Chicago (ORD), Miami (MIA), Los Angeles (LAX), San Francisco (SFO), Washington, D.C. (IAD), Orlando (MCO), Hartford (BDL) and soon, Philadelphia (PHL).
