JetBlue to Introduce Boarding Groups

JetBlue is changing up the way you get on board. Effective October 17, the carrier will switch to a boarding process that’s segmented by group rather than boarding based on which section of the cabin your assigned seat is located.
JetBlue let Mosaic members know about the new process first in an email sent by the Director of Loyalty Marketing, Monique Mammoli:
Historically, JetBlue boarded its aircraft from the rear of the cabin to the front. Effective Tuesday, however, it’ll begin boarding non-Mosaic passengers in groups. Details on how exactly the groups will be arranged aren’t clear at this point. JetBlue is saying that the new group boarding process “uses a method based on the entire length of the aircraft and seat assignments.”
We reached out to the airline for a better idea of how these groups will be arranged but have yet to hear back.
JetBlue did tweet, however, that it will have boarding groups A-E on its A320s and A321s, and on its E190s, there will be groups A-D.
We’ll have boarding groups A through E on our A320s and A321s. Our E190s will have boarding groups A through D.

It’s entirely possible that cardholders of the JetBlue and JetBlue Plus Card could get priority group boarding, much like what’s offered with other airline co-branded cards. However, that has yet to be confirmed.
