The best way to find the right fares and dates is by using Google flights and selecting British Airways as the airline. You can then scroll through the calendar to find the cheapest fares. Once you’ve got the dates for you, click through to the airline’s website to book.

New York (JFK and EWR) is a destination that is often on sale from the UK but it is rare to see prices under £300 return on a full service carrier like British Airways. There’s plenty of different dates non-stop from London (LHR, with some LGW options) available – there are cheap prices through the colder months when demand is lower, but these prices are also available well into May 2020, which is perfect weather to be out and active without the summer heat that the city can sometimes struggle to handle. Central Park in May and September is green, beautiful and relaxing.

The fares are available starting with departures in September (for slightly more) and then the headline price almost everyday from October right through to May next year – excluding the December/January holidays. There are cheap departure dates many days of the week but aim for departures on Mondays, Tuesdays or Wednesdays for the most options. British Airways and their codeshare partner American Airlines together have more than a dozen flights each day between these two cities and there are plenty of different flight time available. We love day-time flights on the return leg here at TPG UK as we think it’s the best way to beat jet-lag on these short flights crossing so many timezones.

These are basic economy fares meaning there’s no checked luggage or seat selection, but you’ll still receive full complimentary food, drinks and entertainment – you would have to pay extra for food and drinks on the likes of Norwegian who are about the only other airline who we see sub-£300 return fares from.
