The best way to find the right fares and dates is by using Google Flights and selecting TAP as the airline and business class as the cabin class. You can then scroll through the calendar to find the cheapest fares. Once you’ve got the dates for you, click through to the airline’s website to book.

Economy fares directly to Brazil from the UK are often priced well into the £1,000s. So, less than that for business class is a great deal. Yes, it’s the Brazilian winter, and yes you need to position yourself to and from Lisbon, but this is a very small price to pay for a cracking business class deal.

TAP is the flag carrier of Portugal and it was the first airline to start operating the brand new Airbus A330-900neo aircraft. TPG’s Brendan Dorsey recently reviewed the aircraft on this exact route and he loved the business class seat, IFE and the service he received on board.

Getting yourself to Lisbon and back might not be as bad it seems, as we know that starting flights from Europe can save you lots of money and can be pretty cheap if you use British Airways’ Reward Flight Savers.

Winter in Brazil isn’t all bad, either. Temperatures in São Paulo rarely drop below 20°C during the day and the city is a short 35-45 minute hop to Rio.
