New Zealand is typically one of the most expensive destinations to get to. China Eastern Airlines is about to shake that up with return fares from London to Auckland for as low as £404. The flights are only available on select dates from the end of February through the end of March 2020. You will notice that there is a long layover in Shanghai in each direction, but you’ll arrive in the morning and have the whole day to explore the city and stretch your legs before heading back to the airport.

The most simple way to find these fares is to head to Google Flights and enter the departure airport as Gatwick (LGW) and the arrival airport as Auckland (AKL). Once you’ve clicked search, select China Eastern Airlines from the airline drop down menu, as sometimes the airlines prices don’t show straight away. Once you’ve found dates and prices that suit you by toggling through the calendar, click through to Expedia to book.
