As summer continues, there are now some fantastic destinations on the U.K’s green list, for quarantine-free travel on your return back to the U.K.

The Balearic Islands of Spain have long been a popular summer destination for British travellers with their endless sunshine, alfresco lifestyle, beautiful sandy beaches and delicious cuisine. Music and nightlife enthusiasts can head to Ibiza – pilot test events are currently underway to restart the island’s famous nightlife, though don’t expect the massive superclubs to open as normal this season. If you would rather some peace and quiet, Menorca is a great choice with sleepy villages, secluded beaches and plenty of space for social distancing.

For a good mix of everything, the large island of Mallorca has something for everyone, especially for families.

The addition of the Balearic Islands to the green list did see some flight prices sharply increase but with airlines adding extra capacity to meet demand there are still great bargains to be found. If you’re sitting on a big Avios balance don’t forget to check flights using the great deal Reward Flight Saver – there is still good availability.

These prices below are for travel this month – while we hope the Balearic islands stay on the green list through the rest of the summer (at least), as we saw with Portugal last month, things can change unexpectedly.

If you do wish to limit the chances of your destination changing from green to amber, you may wish to travel sooner, rather than later. The next traffic light update is expected on 15 July.

Keep in mind that these airlines are low-cost carriers, meaning that benefits you might be used to receiving with other airlines, such as checked luggage or carry-on luggage, may cost you extra.

British travellers bound for Ibiza, Menorca, Mallorca and Formentera will now need to show proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test or proof of full vaccination for at least 14 days to enter.

Currently, the green list requires no quarantine on return to the U.K., though you will need to take a pre-departure test as well as one within two days of arrival back in the U.K.
