As the travel industry reopens following COVID-19 shutdowns, TPG suggests that you talk to your doctor, follow health officials’ guidance and research local travel restrictions before booking that next trip. We will be here to help you prepare, whether it is next month or next year.

As we start to see some kind of light at the end of the tunnel for lockdown, airlines are trying to get passengers back on planes with fares like this: London to New York in economy from £268 return. The deal runs from December 2020 to April 2021, which leaves plenty of time for things to return to some sense of normal.

Remember, these are BA’s lowest Economy Basic fares, which means checked luggage isn’t included and seat selection starts at £26 each-way. Upgrading to British Airways Economy Standard is £45 each way and gives you a checked bag, the ability to choose your seat for free 24-hours before departure and a higher boarding group.

To book, head to Google Flights and set the departure city as Gatwick (LGW) and the arrival airport as New York (JFK). Next, set the airline to British Airways and scroll through the calendar to find the cheapest dates to fly, which are highlighted in green. Once you’ve got the flights you want, head to the British Airways website to make sure you earn your Tier Points and Avios and are ATOL protected.
