The best way to find the right fares and dates is by using Google flights and selecting British Airways as the airline. You can then scroll through the calendar to find the cheapest fares. Once you’ve got the dates for you, click through to the airline’s website to book.

The festive season in New York is magical. Think Home Alone, Miracle On 34th Street and all of the other Christmas classics combined —  and you can now experience it all and watch the iconic ball drop in Times Square from as little as £1,355 return in business class.

The fares are available starting with departures on Christmas Eve and returning right through until June. Due to the way that airlines price their fares, a Saturday night stay and a mid-week departure is required to bag yourself a festive treat.

This might be a great option to buy a cash fare as each-way would earn you 140 Tier Points. As a beginner to the game, this would earn you a total of 280 Tier Points, leaving you 20 away from making Bronze membership level. Even better if you’re flying from Edinburgh (EDI), Glasgow (GLA) or Newcastle (NCL) as these connecting flights will earn you 40 points a piece, pushing you clearly into Bronze Status.

Airline: British Airways
Cost: £1,355+
Travel Dates: December 2019 – June 2020 including Christmas and New Year
