It’s the turn of a new month again, and with that, the return of payday escapes. This week, we’ve managed to find super low fares from three UK airports: Luton (LTN), Manchester (MAN) and Stansted (STN). As always with these kind of fares, these lesser-known destinations are a little off the beaten track and have something very unique to offer. Oh, and the best part is you can get there for less than £50 return — the perfect use of your October paycheck for a quick getaway.

Billund (BLL) from £39 return

Fun fact: The creator of world-famous Lego, Ole Kirk Christiansen, was born and raised in Billund, and it’s thanks to him that the this tiny Danish town is on the map on a global scale. Since the opening of Legoland in 1968, tourists have come to this young and exciting city in their droves.

Oslo (OSL) from £36 return

Sticking with Scandinavia, Norway’s capital Oslo is a great city for a weekend break. It’s small enough to get around on foot, but there’s also enough to do to keep you occupied for a few days.

Wizz Air only operates a daily flight from Luton, the airline’s UK hub, to Oslo (OSL). The flight times are also very friendly, departing Luton (LTN) mid-morning on the Friday and returning just after midday on the Sunday.

Cologne (CGN) from £49 return

If you haven’t been to Cologne yet, the time is now to visit this charming German city. There is culture, krout and Kölsch brimming at the seams. Whether you decide to take advantage of this deal now or wait until the opening of its famous Christmas markets, you’re sure to have a great time.

Remember, Ryanair and Wizz Air’s lowest fares don’t include a checked bag. But, if you’re clever with your packing, that shouldn’t be too much of a problem.
