As the travel industry reopens following COVID-19 shutdowns, TPG suggests that you talk to your doctor, follow health officials’ guidance and research local travel restrictions before booking that next trip. We will be here to help you prepare, whether it is next month or next year.

Budapest, the capital of Hungary, is the perfect place for a European city break. From river walks and hearty cuisine to open-air spas, there’s certainly enough to keep you entertained. The best bit is that it’s so cheap when you’re there, too! We’re seeing flights as low as £20 from Edinburgh (EDI) and in the mid £30s from Gatwick (LGW) and Manchester (MAN), as reported by Holiday Pirates. Flights this low from Edinburgh are rare.

Rest assured, Hungary is on the U.K. government’s list of countries that we can visit without quarantine on return to England.

To book, head to either Ryanair’s website for flights from Edinburgh or Manchester or Wizz Air’s if you’re flying from Gatwick. Then, all you need to do is set Budapest (BUD) as your destination and use the built-in price comparison to find the lowest fares and dates that suit you best.

Remember, Ryanair and Wizz Air’s lowest fares don’t include a checked bag. But, if you’re clever with your packing, that shouldn’t be too much of a problem. Don’t forget: flying low-cost doesn’t mean you have to have a low-cost experience. Check out our guide on how to upgrade your low-cost experience.
