If you want a quick and free boost to your Virgin Atlantic Flying Club account, right now you can earn 250 Flying Club miles just for installing the airline’s ‘Mile Finder’ toolbar extension to your Google Chrome browser.

Mile Finder will automatically scan any websites you are browsing to alert you if you can earn Flying Club miles for purchases on that site. It’s a great way to prompt you to ensure you are earning all the miles possible where you may have forgotten to go through the Flying Club e-store portal before shopping online.

To install the extension, head over to the Virgin Atlantic Shops Away e-store toolbar page here.

You’ll then need to log in to your Flying Club account and then be directed to download the extension.

Note that each retailer participating in the Shops Away program needs to opt into the Mile Finder extension, so not every retailer may show, though a good number of retailers already have.

Once installed, when visiting a participating retailer, you will notice a red banner across the top of the page notifying you of the earn rate. Simply click the ‘Click to earn’ button and Shops Away will track your purchases and (should) award you the corresponding miles for shopping as normal. You don’t need to navigate away from this page.

You don’t need to actually make a purchase to earn the 250 miles, you just need to download and install the Mile Finder. Based on TPG UK’s most recent valuations, those 250 miles are worth £3, which is a decent return just for downloading something. The bonus miles should be deposited in your Flying Club account within 48 hours.
