British Airways Executive Club members can currently get a 50% bonus boost to their Avios on AirBnB bookings and experiences but you only have one more week to take advantage of the offer.

Until 28 June this means you can earn 4.5 Avios for every £1/$1/€1 spent with AirBnB.

For news delivered each morning to your inbox, sign up for TPG’s daily newsletter.

However, finding the offer can be confusing as BA offers differing Avios for AirBnB bookings depending on which of its sites you’re looking at.

BA’s shopping portal, for example, offers 3 Avios for every £1/$1/€1 spent here, while the Executive Club members page says you can earn 3 Avios for every £1/$1/€1 spent on stays by booking here.

In any case, to make use of the 4.5 Avios offer you can access it via this link, then simply follow the instructions, adding your BA Executive Club number before being directed to AirBnB’s website to make your booking. The bonus Avios will be credited to your account within 60 days of the booking date according to the terms and conditions.

It’s important to note that you must not open AirBnB in a new window or leave the site before making your booking as this will stop BA from tracking your booking and knowing to award you your bonus Avios. Treat the link as you would when booking using a shopping portal — for more on how to maximise your points earnings by using shopping portals read our guide here.

What kind of stay and experiences can I book, and how much will I earn?

In terms of the Avios you could earn, if you were to book for a larger group you could earn a decent amount of Avios here. When we looked at potential bookings we found the following stays and experiences on offer.

A two-bedroom farmhouse on the outskirts of Rome, booked from 28 August to 4 September, will cost £819 for up to six guests.

There are a plethora of experiences in the Rome region a group of six can do. A tour of the city’s Colosseum and underground dungeons, for example, would cost £89 per person. Altogether, you would earn 6,088 Avios for this trip.

Or, to stay that same week in a converted windmill in the heart of the Luberon in France’s Provence will cost a group of four friends £2,701.

As an experience, you could take a tour of a local winery that includes a lesson in “grape stomping” for £65 per person. All in, assuming all four travellers take the experience, this would work out as 13,324.5 Avios in your account for doing nothing but have a lovely time eating cheese, drinking wine and lazing about under the hot French sun.

This would be enough Avios to get a return economy seat from London to the likes of Amsterdam, Berlin, Copenhagen or Paris (9,500 points off-peak, 10,500 peak + fees and taxes). Or a one-way business seat (8,500 off-peak, 9,750 points peak + fees and taxes).

And for the larger group, a party of up to 12 travellers could stay that same week in a gorgeous villa on the Greek island of Mykonos for £1,267 a night.

If, say, 10 of you then took part in a five-hour cruise aboard a luxury catamaran (at £188 per person) you could earn 48,352.5 Avios for the whole trip. This would be more than enough Avios to book two people, return on peak or off-peak dates for your next holiday from London to the following popular destinations from London: Alicante – Spain, Bari – Italy, Dubrovnik – Croatia, Ibiza – Spain, Madrid – Spain, Oslo – Norway, Venice – Italy.

Bottom line

British Airways partners with more than 1,000 retailers, hotels, travel websites and more, through all of which Executive Club members can earn Avios.

This short-time offer of 4.5 Avios per £1 spent, is a fantastic opportunity to not only enjoy an amazing holiday this summer but to earn a lot of points in the process on something you’re more than likely to be booking anyway as part of your summer holiday or upcoming weekend staycation plans. However, you need to act fast as the offer is only valid on bookings made before 28 June.
