Update: Some offers mentioned below are no longer available. View the current offers here – The Business Platinum Card® from American Express

For the last several months, the Business Platinum Card® from American Express has been offering new cardholders a limited-time opportunity to earn mega points — provided they can accomplish some pretty major spending in the first three months. However, those interested now have only about a week left to sign up and score the welcome bonus of up to 100,000 points. The current welcome bonus will expire on Wednesday, August 8.

As a reminder, here’s how the current elevated bonus breaks down:

  • Earn 50,000 Membership Rewards points after you spend $10,000 on purchases in the first 3 months of cardmembership
  • Earn another 50,000 points after you spend an additional $15,000 on purchases in the first 3 months of cardmembership

So to earn the full 100,000 Amex Membership Rewards points with the Business Platinum Card’s current offer, you’d need to spend $25,000 in the first three months. But remember, this is a business card, so depending on your company it could be quite easy to accomplish that amount of spend.

Provided you can meet both minimum spending requirements to get the full 100,000 points, you’ll be getting approximately $1,900 in value from the welcome bonus, based on TPG’s valuations, with the ability to transfer those Amex points to Delta, Hilton, Air Canada’s Aeroplan, Singapore Airlines and many others.

The Business Platinum also offers a ton of value beyond the welcome bonus. It comes with a $200 annual airline fee credit, a slew of airport lounge access options (from Centurion Lounges to Priority Passes to Delta Sky Clubs when you’re flying on a Delta ticket), a Global Entry or TSA PreCheck application fee credit, Gold elite status with Hilton and Starwood (equivalent to Gold in the new Marriott program launching soon), 10 free Gogo inflight Wi-Fi passes each year and much more.

The Business Platinum also earns 5x points on airfare and prepaid hotels booked through Amex Travel, and 1.5x points on eligible purchases of $5,000 or more (up to 1 million additional points per year). This isn’t quite as sweet as the 5x points on all airfare booked directly with the airline that you’ll earn with the personal version of the card, The Platinum Card® from American Express. But the Business Platinum also offers a 35% rebate when you pay with points for a first or business-class flight with any airline, or when you pay with points for an economy flight with your selected qualifying airline.

Finally, keep in mind that this card has a $450 annual fee (and no foreign transaction fees). That’s in line with other premium credit cards, and it’s notably $100 less than the annual fee on the personal Amex Platinum.

You only have until August 8 to apply for the Business Platinum Card with its 100,000-point welcome bonus, so be sure to act sooner rather than later if you’re interested in securing this elevated offer.
