American Express U.K. is hoping to keep cardholders on board by adding more benefits to its cards. On Monday, Amex U.K. announced that it was adding a subscription to the sleep and meditation app Calm as a benefit of its personal cards.

Until 31 October, Amex is offering cardholders a complimentary one-year Premium membership with Calm. Additionally, those who enrol in the offer will not only get the first year’s membership for free, but they’ll lock in the second year of membership at half price.

All personal American Express cards from the U.K. are eligible for the offer, meaning if you have a Membership Rewards-earning card, such as the Platinum Card from American Express, or a cobranded card, such as the British Airways Premium Plus Card, it will be eligible. Unfortunately, it appears as though small business cards are not eligible for the offer.

To register for this offer, you’ll need to head to the Amex landing page on Calm’s site. Even if you already have a Calm account, you’ll be able to enrol that account with this offer. However, you must cancel that subscription and re-enrol in a new one. You must do so before 31 October.

A Calm Premium membership is valued at £28.99 each year. So if you enrol your card for two years, you’ll get about £44 in value from this new partnership.

Earlier during the coronavirus pandemic, American Express U.K. unveiled some additional benefits for cardholders — especially of the Platinum Card. In May, the issuer gave Platinum cardholders up to £100 to spend at some popular retailers.
