On Wednesday, British Airways unveiled a new destination for its summer 2020 schedule. As of 30 April 2020, British Airways will launch its new route between London Gatwick (LGW) and Antalya, Turkey (AYT).
The summer service will operate six times per week, operated by an Airbus A320. Flights are now bookable on ba.com, and the schedule alternates between days throughout the summer service.
The flight from LGW to AYT covers 1,810 miles, according to gcmap.com. Given the one-way mileage, the route falls into BA’s Zone 3 on its award chart, meaning it’ll cost you 8,500 Avios one-way on off-peak dates in economy (10,000 peak).
BA’s decision to add the new route for the summer service was part of the carrier’s Gatwick schedule adjustments for the summer 2020 season. In addition to the Antalya service, BA also flies a summer service from Gatwick to Dalaman (DLM). The carrier flies year-round between London Heathrow (LHR) and Istanbul (IST).
Inside the A320 that operates this route, passengers can expect 96 seats in a 3-3 configuration in the World Traveller (economy) cabin — each with 30 inches of pitch and 17 inches of width. In the Club Europe cabin, expect 48 seats also in a 3-3 configuration. Keep in mind that these Club Europe seats are the same pitch and width as those in economy, though just with a blocked out middle seat.
