British Airways will continue service on three of its newest domestic routes from Belfast City Airport (BHD) as it continues to ramp up its U.K. network.

The airline announced that routes from Belfast to Exeter (EXT), Glasgow (GLA) and Leeds (LBA) that were introduced this summer will be extended this winter. The carrier also revealed a new direct route from Belfast (BHD) to Birmingham (BHX) that will operate twice daily and three times per day on Thursday and Friday. This gives Brits more options for planning short holidays toward the end of the year, as well as more flexibility for business travellers.

The airline is also increasing the number of flights offered from Belfast. The new schedule will include the following routes:

  • Belfast to Exeter four times per week
  • Belfast to Glasgow: 13 times per week
  • Belfast to Leeds: 10 times per week

BA CityFlyer will continue operating these routes using its fleet of Embraer 190 aircraft.

“This year has shown how much customers want to stay connected with the rest of the U.K.,” said Tom Stoddart, managing director of BA CityFlyer. “We’re responding to the customer demand we saw over the last few months by extending some of our newest U.K. routes from Belfast City Airport.”

The airline is also debuting a new service to Salzburg, Austria, from London City (LCY) and Southampton (SOU). This is meant to provide customers eyeing a winter ski trip. Flights will operate twice a week from London City on Friday and Saturday from 10 December. The Southampton to Salzburg route will operate once a week on Saturdays starting 11 December.

You can book on British Airways’ website as of today for travel between 31 October and 26 March 2022. The airline’s booking policy lets customers exchange bookings for a voucher or move their travel dates without incurring a change fee if their plans change or if COVID-19 travel protocols change.
