Look for a nice Avios boost for your summer holiday bookings? You have until Wednesday (11 May) to take advantage of this great Nectar Hotels offer that will earn you bonus Nectar points that could earn you 1,250 Avios for as little as one £30 a night stay. Here’s how it works…

Since last year, shoppers have had the ability to turn their Nectar points into cold hard Avios points, opening up bigger travel possibilities with the likes of British Airways and their partner airlines.

Until tomorrow (11 May) customers booking through Nectar Hotels’ homepage will get an additional 1,000 Nectar points bonus for every night purchased, allowing you to plump up your points by later transferring those Nectar points to your Avios account. All you need to do is ensure you have a Nectar account and a British Airways Executive Club account.

how could I earn 1,250 Avios for a single £30 stay??

Factoring in the standard Nectar Hotels minimum earn rate of 1,000 Nectar points per night, with the included 1,000 points bonus means that you can earn at least 2,000 Nectar points per stay. This would convert to 1,250 Avios points — just for a single night booked into an abode in the U.K. or abroad. If you stay for additional nights you could stand to earn even more.

Once you’ve received your points you can use our guide to transfer your Nectar points to your Avios account when you’re good and ready.

When we checked availability on Nectar Hotels we found you could earn 2,000 Nectar points on one-night stays from Barcelona to Boston to Bangkok. With some stays costing as little as thirty of your finest British pounds, including this three-star find in Italy below.

And while Naples in November may not be for everyone, there are plenty of other bargains to be had if you increase your budget and scout around. We also found well-located three-star hotels in Paris on the fringes of early summer for as little as £149 a night, awarding (you guessed it), 2,000 Nectar points as well.

What’s more, if you’re willing to spend more on a hotel, the standard offer increases to 2,000 points, meaning that the 1,000 bonus will bag you a total of 3,000 Nectar points for the one stay (which can be transferred to 1,875 Avios points). The amount will also increase the longer you stay. That same hotel in Naples came to less than £100 (£95) for a three-night stay and returned a hefty 4,000 Nectar points.

TPG also found a four-star waterfront hotel in Dubrovnik for £269 which returned a whopping 7,000 Nectar points. Naturally, peak times and better weather make a difference, but if you’ve got time to play around you’ll find something that fits and be on your way to increasing your points.

What’s the benefit of this Nectar/Avios power combo?

The partnership is a great way for travellers to boost their balance of Avios by earning points from everyday purchases. With it, you can transfer 400 Nectar points to become 250 Avios — or vice versa (250 Avios can be converted to 400 Nectar points).

With this transfer option, you are “buying” Avios for a cost of 0.8p apiece, which isn’t necessarily a bad deal. In fact, that’s better than you will often find with BA’s buy Avios promotions.

If you are looking to maximise your travel and have amassed plenty of Nectar points, you might want to transfer them to Avios if you are looking to top up your Avios account for a planned redemption. This is an example of where purchasing points might make sense and is a solid way to top up your Avios balance.

Bottom Line

This current deal via the Nectar Hotels website allows you to book hotels for stays up to March 2023 and get a minimum of 2,000 Nectar points per night, provided you book before next Wednesday (11 May).

You only have one more day to take advantage of the offer so make haste while you can.
