The Airbus A350-900XWB, home to the fabulous Delta One Suites, doesn’t typically make scheduled runs between US cities. The key word here is “typically.” While we’ve shared Delta’s schedule for internationally equipped A330s, 777s, 767s and 757s, there’s a special flight slotted in for Thanksgiving weekend that AvGeeks will appreciate.
Delta’s A359 will run between Detroit (DTW) and Atlanta (ATL) on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2018. DL1943 will serve as the outbound DTW to ATL leg, while DL1063 will return to the Motor City from Delta’s home turf. Interestingly, Delta has marked these routes as “New Flagship” when searching at Delta.com, which will surely draw attention from folks who may casually be searching for this route on this particular day.
A round-trip ticket between Detroit and Atlanta in a Delta One Suite is presently pricing at $871, while just flying the DTW to ATL leg will set you back $772. Considering that round-trip in Comfort+ is pricing at $761.30, the upcharge to plant yourself in a suite is well worth it. If you’re looking for a round-trip ride in economy, that’s pricing out at $321.
If you’re looking to secure a ride via SkyMiles, Delta’s asking 42,000 for a round-trip ticket in Delta One Suites. One-way tickets are pricing out at exactly half, allowing you to exchange 21,000 SkyMiles for a seat in Delta One Suites, 13,500 for Comfort+ or 9,500 for economy. Those are solid rates for an everyday ride between Detroit and Atlanta; for a ride onboard an A350-900XWB, it’s a veritable steal.
If you manage to secure a ticket, be sure to check out our guide to choosing the best seat. Also consider that adding a cobranded Delta Amex to your wallet could provide enough SkyMiles to cover the entire flight.
