In July, you can book rewards valid for travel in September and October. These reduced tickets apply to return but also one-way travel, no matter the direction. That makes them extra valuable for one-way travel or complex itineraries.
Let’s take a look at some of the best deals.
Cuba in Business Class From 101,250 Miles Return
With this month’s Promo Rewards, business class tickets to Havana, Cuba (HAV) drop as low as 101,250 miles return. Perfect to get away from the autumn that will come rolling through — and keep your tan going for a couple more weeks. Keep in mind that even though the miles amount is discounted, the high fuel surcharges stay the same.
For example, a return flight from London (LHR) to Havana (HAV) is pricing out at 101,250 Flying Blue miles + £512. You can fly this itinerary via both Paris and Amsterdam, on an Air France 777 or a KLM A330. Both offer a lie-flat business class product.
Havana is also discounted in economy (40,500 miles + £242 return) and premium economy (81,000 miles and £425 return).
French Caribbean Destinations in Economy From 27,000 Miles Return
In case Cuba is not for you, take advantage of the economy class deals to Guadeloupe (PTP) or Martinique (FDF). These flights can be had for only 27,000 miles and £256.
Be aware that these itineraries include an airport change in Paris from Charles de Gaulle (CDG) to Orly (ORY) and vice versa. You can take a bus between these airports with Le Bus Direct taking you just over an hour.
North American Destinations in Both Economy and Business Class
This month’s Promo Rewards also offer two US destinations: Minneapolis (MSP) and Salt Lake City (SLC) return in economy for 29,000 miles. Canada’s East Coast is covered by business class flights to Toronto for 90,000 miles return.
Once again, these rewards are only bookable in July for travel between 1 September 2019 and 31 October 2019. Not all available reward seats are eligible for a Promo Rewards booking, so act sooner rather than later before they’re all taken.
In case you are low on Flying Blue miles, remember you can top up your account by transferring from American Express Membership Rewards at a 1:1 rate. You can also convert Marriott Bonvoy points at a 3:1 rate, plus get a 5,000-mile bonus for every 60,000 points you transfer.
