July 1st saw the inaugural flight from Manchester (MAN) to Istanbul’s Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW). The airline is Turkey’s leading low-cost airline and recently increased its fleet size with the introduction of new Airbus A320 NEO aircraft.
The airline are currently operating 5 flights per week but as of 21 July this will increase to a daily flight. Flight times and information is as follows:
- PC1180 Manchester (MAN) 12:40pm Departure → Istanbul (SAW) 6:50pm Arrival
- PC1179 Istanbul (SAW) 9:30am Departure → Manchester (MAN) 11:55am Arrival
The airline is advertising fares from as low as £79.99 one-way which is a great price to Turkey. This is the most basic fare and only includes hand luggage of up to 8kg. The next of the four fare categories is around £18 more expensive and inlcludes 20kg of checked luggage.
Manchester (MAN) already has direct links to four other destinations in Turkey including popular beach destinations such as Antalya (AYT), Bodrum (BJV), Dalaman (DLM) and Izmir (ADB) but Pegasus now offers connections to 27 other Turkish cities including Kayseri (ASR) – one of the closest airports to the stunning Cappadocia.
Not only that, the airline also operates to 39 other destinations including Abu Dhabi (AUH), Dubai (DXB) and Tel Aviv (TLV) – giving you the option to fly low-cost even further meaning you can put those extra pounds towards enjoying yourself while you’re away.
Pegasus’ arrival in Manchester (MAN) and the new route to Istanbul (SAW) is one of many interesting new connections that the Northern hub airport has seen in 2019 including Kiev (KBP), Kalamata (KLX) and Poitiers (PIS).
